The EC Liaison Office to Kosovo launched a call to promote human rights and enhance civil society in Kosovo, financed by the EIDHR programme.

Total budget for this call is 873 000 EUR and between 30 000 and 100 000 EUR per project (between 50 and 80% of eligible costs)

Associations - Development NGOs - Federations, Unions - Universities

Regions covered: EU Member States and Kosovo

Objectives of the call for proposals are:

- Enhancing respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms in countries and regions where they are most at risk

- Strengthening the role of civil society in promoting human rights and democratic reform, in supporting conflict prevention and in consolidating political participation and representation

- Supporting actions on human rights and democracy issues in areas covered by EU Guidelines, including on human rights dialogues, on human rights defenders, on the death penalty, on torture, and on children and armed conflict

- Supporting and strengthening the international and regional framework for the protection of human rights, justice, the rule of law and the promotion of democracy

- Building confidence in and enhancing the reliability and transparency of democratic electoral processes, in particular through election observation 

Actions to be financed:

- The pursuit of common agendas for human rights and democratic reform based on cooperation among civil society organisations

- Building towards consensus on disputed or controversial areas of policy in deeply divided societies,by means of civil society dialogues

- Enhancing political representation and participation

- Initiatives to enhance the inclusiveness and pluralism of civil society
